Nathan Bird
Tenor

    

Nathan Bird grew up in Excelsior, Minnesota, where his musically-inclined family instilled within him a love for singing.


Nathan has performed with various choirs and ensembles including solos with the Northwestern College Choir throughout the Midwest, the west coast, and in Germany and Ukraine. He placed first, for two consecutive years, in the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing collegiate vocal scholarship competition.  In 2008 he traveled again to Ukraine, Germany, and Austria as a soloist with the Wooddale Chorale.  He has sung at numerous events and recitals in the Twin Cities area.  Recent accomplishments include winning second place in the operatic aria division of Metropolitan State College of Denver's Vocal Arts Competition.


In 2006 Nathan earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Northwestern College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and in 2010 received his Master's degree in Vocal Performance at Denver University's Lamont School of Music.

Naomi Bird grew up in Hopkins, Minnesota and was heavily involved in music throughout high school.  Piano lessons, flute lessons, and youth orchestra and choir with the Music Association of Minnetonka were some of her regular involvements.

In 2002, through her desire to combine her love of music and her passion for helping people with special needs, she began pursuing a bachelor of music degree in music therapy at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. 

In 2008 Naomi completed her music therapy internship at Good Samaritan Society - Stillwater, MN where she then worked as music therapist on the memory care unit before moving to Denver, CO with her husband Nathan.

As a music therapist, Naomi's interest lies especially in the area of older adults and dementia care.  As a teacher, Naomi specializes in working with adult beginners and individuals with special needs. As a performer, Naomi enjoys accompanying soloists and ensembles, and playing piano for weddings and other events.
